Will An Old Laptop Run Windows 7 Well?

June 4, 2009

Do you think that Windows® 7 will run faster than Windows Vista® or run on an older laptop from the early 2000's?

If you take a look at the data I have gathered below, you might not be as hopeful as you may have already been. Keep in mind that the Windows 7 final version has not been released, so things can still change.

My Findings

  • Windows 7 RC requires the same processor speed and RAM as Windows Vista Premium but less ram than Windows Vista Home Basic. It also requires 1 more GB of hard-drive space than Windows Vista.
